Ross Neal: Chair of Directors & Member
Ross is member and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Parallel Learning Trust. He is a senior fire officer for the London Fire Brigade and works extensively with schools in the area of inclusion and engagement by delivering the LIFE programme for the London Fire Brigade, which is an award winning intervention programme for 14 – 17 year olds across London. Ross works extensively in the voluntary sector, using sport as the vehicle for youth inclusion across a range of vulnerable communities. He has notably won a Jack Petchy Leadership award for adults working with young people. Ross has extensive governance experience in the schools and voluntary sector and is used to building and leading strategic teams.
Rosemary Newlove: Vice Chair of Trust & Member / Education and SEND
Rosemary is a member and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Trust. She is a dedicated education professional of 30 years and a retired Primary Headteacher of an inner London school which was judged outstanding in 3 consecutive inspections. Rosemary’s expertise in teaching and learning and improving outcomes for children, provides invaluable advice and strategic challenge to the trust. In addition she has extensive knowledge and experience of SEND and has sat on numerous Local Authority SEN panels to advise on pupil placement and the assessment process.
Victor DaSilva: Member - Commercial and Enterprise
Victor is a founding member of Parallel Learning Trust and a Board Director. He is an experienced business leader, having founder his own company supplying premium paper products based in South London. He brings a wealth of commercial acumen and is able to provide the board with strategic advice and guidance on business and commercial matters. Victor has been instrumental in providing direction and challenge to the formation and business plan for our community interest company and ensuring its success.
Catherine Malec: Member – Business Development
Catherine is a general manager with responsibility for negotiations within financial and legal settings as well as managing a profit and loss account. In addition, Catherine is involved with building commercial models and proposals and has experience of presentation skills and influencing/communicating with senior management in other financial institutions.
Catherine has a BSC in Biological Sciences and a postgraduate diploma in Marketing. She started her career in Marketing and has experience in Project Management roles before moving into Business Development and General Management. She has worked in the travel, publishing, charity industries and, for the last 10 years, in financial services. She has a degree in Biological Sciences from University of Birmingham; Diploma in Direct Marketing from the Institute of Direct Marketing. She has a specialism in Enterprise Entrepreneurs, Maths - using it at work, Financial Literacy.
